Historic Renovation

Every historic home speaks of the hands that shaped it.  Each one is a study in how that building technique either withstood or succumbed to its use and environment.

When renovating an old building, Quigley Builders identifies and preserves the parts that are indicative of a sound building practice, as well as those elements that give it integrity and define its character.  We peel away layers that were added over time that obscure the original design.  At the same time, we incorporate improvements in building practice and materials.  We want people to appreciate the character of the building that we've saved, and then discover that it uses less energy in a year than its 20th-century counterpart across the street.

Whether a public building or a private home, we believe each building has a story to tell.
